TOURNAMENT RULES

  • ELIGIBILITY:

    • See eligibility tab for applicable grade guidelines

  • GAME BALL SIZE:

    • The 28.5 official game basketball size for 4th, 5th, 6th Grades & All Girls

    • The 29.5 official game basketball size for 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th Grades

             * Home Team Provides Game Ball/Teams Must Provide There Own Warm-Up Balls

  • All GAMES ARE STOP CLOCK FORMAT:

    •   9U / 3rd Grade Division - (12 Minute Halves)

    • 10U / 4th Grade Division – (12 Minute Halves)

    • 11U / 5th Grade Division - (12 Minute Halves)

    • 12U / 6th Grade Division - (12 Minute Halves)

    • 13U / 7th Grade Division - (12 Minute Halves)

    • 14U / 8th Grade Division - (14 Minute Halves)

    • 15U Division- (14 Minute Halves)

    • 16U Division- (14 Minute Halves)

    • 17U Division- (14 Minute Halves)​​​​​

  • MERCY RULE: 

    • ​Running clock with a point differential of 20+ points in the 2nd half. Clock will resume stop clock format if the point margin drops to 15 points or less

  • TIME OUTS:

    • 2 timeouts per half (30 seconds each); Timeouts from first half do not carry over to the second half or overtime; 1 timeout in overtime(s)

 

  • In the event a scorekeeper is needed and/or required, the home team shall provide a scorekeeper

 

  • PRE-GAME WARM UP/HALF TIME:

    • 3 minute warm-up before each game; 2 minute halftime warm-up

  • EXTRA TIME:

    • Overtime 2 Minutes (1 Timeout per Overtime - No Carryover)

    • Double Overtime 2 Minutes (1 Timeout per Overtime - No Carryover)

    • Sudden Death After Second Overtime (No Timeouts)

              *First tie breaker will be head to head resultsSecond tie breaker will be point differentialThird tie breaker will be total points                                scoredFourth tie breaker will be total points allowedFinal tie breaker will be a coin flip

 

  • FOULS:

    • 6 Personal Fouls Per

    • ​1 -1 Bonus - 10th foul

    • Double bonus - 13th foul

  • TECHNICAL FOULS/EJECTIONS:

    • Technical fouls count as a personal and team foul

    • 2 technical fouls will result in ejection from the current game and suspension from the following game. This applies to both players and coaches; An ejection of any kind will result in suspension for the following game.  Suspended coaches will not be allowed in or around the bench area

    • ABSOLUTELY, no player is permitted to leave the bench during an on the court altercation. The result will be an immediate ejection of that player and a technical foul will be assessed to the head coach.

  • GAME TIME AND GRACE PERIOD:

    • There will be a 10 minute grace period allowed for any games (subject to change per the site director).  At least 5 players & a coach must be present to start a game.  There will be a 3 minute warm up time before the game and 2 minutes at halftime. If court is running behind, CH Events & the Officials reserve the right to shorten the warmup time.

  • UNIFORMS:

    • All players must wear a numbered uniform that reflects his/her teammates uniforms.

    • All players must have a home and away uniform (Crossover Hoops Inc. reserves the right to modify and/or adjust a rule(s) to ensure the flow, safety and efficiency of the tournament(s))

  • ​PRESSING GUIDLINES:​

    • ​No pressing will be allowed once the game margin has reached 20 points. Pressing can resume if the game margin drops below 15 points

​

  • FORFEITS:

    • ​Forfeited games will count as a game played. Max 15 points will be awarded to the winning team; Maximum margin of victory/defeat will be 15 points

    • In the event that a game is forfeited/ended/stopped due to fighting, shoving, profanity, and/or disruptive behavior by players, spectators, team fans, guest, and/or family associates, the team leading at the time will be assessed the win. If the incident can be clearly assessed and determined who is at fault, the forfeit results will be at the discretion of the tournament director​

  • COURT CONDUCT/BEHAVIOR:

    • No profanity, disrespect and/or harassment of officials by players or coaches will be tolerated. NO EXCEPTIONS! (SEE CH CODE OF CONDUCT)

    • ​Fighting, shoving or profanity will NOT be tolerated; player(s) involved will be and ejected and removed from the tournament (SEE CH CODE OF CONDUCT)

    • No player is permitted to leave the bench during an on the court altercation; this will result in immediate ejection of the player and a technical foul will be assessed to the head coach.

    • Parents, Family, Friends and Guest of a team that violate(s) the CODE OF CONDUCT, will be removed from the tournament premises and may cause the associated team to forfeit there game and/or be removed from the tournament

  • ROSTERS:

    • No Co-Ed teams permitted

    • Only 2 coaches and 12 rostered players permitted on the bench. No fans or spectators in/around the bench or  scorer's table area. All head coaches must be 18 years of age or older

    • Teams should back up their rosters with proof of grade/age in the event of a question/protest. A $100 protest fee will be in effect for all events

    • No player shall be double rostered within the same grade bracket/division. A player may play up, but NOT down

  • In the event a scorekeeper is needed and/or required, the home team shall provide a scorekeeper

​

  • Crossover Hoops Inc. Management and/or the tournament director, reserves the right to switch regulation games to 18 minute running halves if a court is running 15 minutes behind schedule; or a 2 minute running clock in            overtimes circumstances when a court is running 15 minutes behind schedule

​

  • Based on teams registered, some divisions may be combined​​​​

​

  • There will be a 10 minute grace period for late arriving teams. Clock will start and opposing team will receive 2        points for each minute that passes. Game forfeited after 10 minute clock expires

​

  • 2 pool games will be played followed by bracket/consolation play​​

​

  • In the event that 3 or more teams have the same record within the same division, the first tie breaker will be point  differential

 

  • All coaches must sign in at the registration table before their first game of the day

 

  • Only two (2) weekend passes (wristbands) will be provided to coaches for each registered team

 

  • Teams should back up their rosters with proof of age in the event of a question/protest. A $100 protest fee will be in effect for all events

 

  • There are NO REFUNDS if a team drops out 7 days or less prior to an event

​

    * Any refunds approved by CH Management 60 - 8 days prior to an event, will result in a $55 Administrative fee.  NO          EXCEPTIONS!

  • In the event that a facility cancels or closes  before a scheduled Crossover Hoops event, Crossover Hoops retains the right to credit any team fees towards a future event​

  • Crossover Hoops Inc. reserves the right to modify and/or adjust a rule(s) to ensure the flow, safety and efficiency of the tournament(s).
